Monkey Mini Golf - Review
There merely is not plenty golf games over at the Windows Telephone Market. But things are looking amend with the release of Monkey Mini-Golf.
While it's a miniature golf game (zippo wrong with that only would information technology exist so bad to have an 18 hole EA Sports golf game game?), it has a certain appeal to information technology. Graphically, information technology reminds me a lot of the Ass Kong games that hit after in that titles lifespan. The miniature golf holes do take a caste of claiming to them and gaming controls are simple, yet effective.
To read more on Monkey Mini Golf, ease on past the interruption.
Game Layout
Monkey Mini Golf's main carte is simple and to the point. You have options to offset a new game, continue a saved game, view the leader board and access settings (sound effects/music on or off).
You lot have a choice between two golfers; Zeb (male person character) and Mica (female character). Later you're prompted to enter a gamer tag, y'all will see a serial of pop-up windows appear that will instruct you lot on how to play the game.
Basically, you move your golfer from side to side while on the tee box by impact and when satisfied, tap the screen to pull upward you aiming controls. A dotted line appears that tin can be adjusted by bear upon and when you lot go everything lined up but right, tap the screen again. To make your shot, tap the power bar that sits to the right of the screen to start your swing and a 2nd fourth dimension to gear up your power.
From in that location, the game is essentially a round of miniature golf. Holes are progressively unlocked and it appears y'all take to make par or better to advance. Along the course yous will notice bananas that tin be collected for bonus points if yous coil y'all ball over them.
Some of the holes have plenty twists and turns to create blind spots. There is a photographic camera button in the lesser left corner of the screen that volition rotate around these spots to give yous various views of the hole.
Game Play
Game play was surprisingly enjoyable. It can exist challenging to keep gamers interesting in a round of miniature golf but Monkey Mini Golf does a decent chore of it. Some of the holes can just be flat out savage and making par may take a few tries to achieve.
The animations and graphics are done actually well. It'southward a bright, colorful game that represents the island theme nicely.
The only real nit I can society against Monkey Mini Golf game is the lack of a Help Section. While the game isn't hard to selection up, information technology would exist nice to know how the bananas come up into play and that you needed to shoot par or better to advance. There are little hints and tips that appear as the holes are loaded but a reference department would have been nice.
Overall Impression
Monkey Mini Golf game isn't Fable Golf only it tin can hold its own. From graphics to sound furnishings to challenging holes, Monkey Mini Golf is a very good game for your Windows Phone.
There is a trial version available for Monkey Mini Golf with the full version running $one.99. You can download both here (opens Zune) at the Marketplace.
